Team Zoo Fun Facts:

[Defensive]
Pitcher Donna Ialeggio-Pelletier has struck out two batters.
Pitcher Todd Sinander has struck out one batter.
In all games except the fifth, eighth and eleventh (a total of eight), we held all opponents to a total of five scoreless innings.
In the Veterans Stadium game on 7/31 v. Daily News, we had our season-best defensive game, holding them to SIX scoreless innings and a season-low six runs (our only single digit defensive effort, and in a nine-inning game, even).
In the fifth game vs. Franklin Institute and the eighth game vs. Daily News, we held them each to three scoreless innings.
In game eleven at the Vet, Chris Oberlin backed up Ken Pelletier on a pop fly to short center field. Chris ended up catching the ball whilst on his back (with a few bobbles) after it had been tipped by Ken, whose momentum then carried him to topple over Chris. The only injury was a nasty turf-rash currently available for viewing on Chris' left shin. He promises to call it next time.
From left field, Chris Oberlin threw out a runner at the plate attempting to score in game ten. Pitcher Sal DiStefano made the tag at home.
In the ninth game, outfielders Chris Oberlin (tipped) and Kristen Lewis (caught) combined to make a spectacular catch. Unfortunately, their post-catch celebration allowed a run to score.
In our worst defensive inning, we gave up ten runs to Philadelphia Business Journal in our second game.
[Offensive]
No team member has struck out.
Team Zoo has hit into four double plays.
We twice scored five runs in one inning, once each vs. Philadelphia Commerce Department and Academy of Natural Sciences (games three and four, respectively).
In the game at Veterans Stadium, we produced our best offensive effort of the year - a fifteen-run wholloping (topping our previous best by 50%) - while batting a season-best .540.
At the Vet, Ken Pelletier hit a towering home run over the wall and into the seats, the game's only shot out of the park (but also keep in mind he was batting from the outfield in front of second base).
Ken Pelletier, Todd Sinander and Chris Oberlin are the only players to have at least one single, double, triple and home run.
Chris Oberlin is the only player to have double-digits in Runs Scored and RBI.
Only Chris Oberlin has hit safely in all eleven games.
Amy Ivins is the only other player to play in all eleven games.
Greg Mochinski hit safely in nine straight at bats over a four game period (games three through six).
Chris Oberlin hit safely in six straight at bats over a two game period (games nine and ten).
Laurel Mochinski reached base in all games she played (the team's first six, prior to being traded).
Greg Mochinski had at least two hits in all the team's games played (6) before being traded.
Todd Sinander is the only other player to have had multiple-hit games in all games he has played (8).
Ken Pelletier (8), Greg O'Neill (4), Betsy Karkowski (3), Shannon Lucey-O'Neill (2), and Greg Hammell (1) have all hit safely in every game they have played.
Dave Johnston (10) and Kristen Lewis (7) have reached base safely in all games they have played.
Ken Pelletier, Amy Ivins, Sheri Rothermel (subbing for Todd Sinander) and Chris Oberlin were voted for by the team and played in the CCSL "All-Star" game on 9/6/01 and combined to go 5 for 10 at the plate, with 3 singles, a double, a home run and 5 RBI and one run scored.
[Miscellaneous]
Stats are not included for the first exhibition game versus the Academy of Natural Sciences.
Sal DiStefano attended the Veterans Stadium game but volunteered to play for the opposition, which was short on players.
Zoo employee Scott Bartow (animal dept., primates) filled in for one-half of one inning in our tenth game, playing in the outfield.
Dave Johnston has left at least three games bleeding.
