Nice to meet you, I'm Jimmy
I've always been skinny
I can bench press one-fifty
minus the one
I recycle, I'm liberal
somewhat apolitical
I'm quiet, like a criminal
minus the gun
and I hate to admit
I don't give a shit about
what titilates and makes you shout
like mutual funds

I find a peace I can't explain
inside my convoluted brain
and I mind every time it rains
but I'm never a fool
and the kids say "yo, that Jimmy's cool!"

Don't care for religion
don't have much ambition
but my website is bitchin'
I always have fun
I machine wash my delicates
I try not to be celibate
I subject my predicates
and I'm rarely outdone
but I hate to complain
when there's so much pain around
it stops and it knocks you down
but leaves me with none

I find a peace I can't explain
inside my convoluted brain
and I mind every time it rains
but my cup's always filled
and the kids say "hey, that Jimmy's chill!"

I was conceived in the fall of '73
I have completed 35 years of being me
a change of my mind is rarely spent
I am about as pliable as cement
feel free to believe everything that you hear
just know there's more to me than meets the ear

Never high, always sober
not finished 'til it's over
I got stones like boulders
that way 'bout a ton
sarcastic as anything
I find life perplexing
but mine is a blessing
like I hit the home run

I find a peace I can't explain
inside my convoluted brain
and I mind every time it rains
but I'm never a fool
except when I'm with you
I'm always a fool
whenever I'm with you
I'm always a fool
when I'm with you

Background:
Music: Slowly emerged, when I finally got around to actually thinking about it.
Lyrics: I used to have a black goldfish named Jimmy Fishman. This song is not about him. Almost all written before music. I totally stole the line "a peace I can't explain" from a lovely song called "Down To The Garden" by Nashville artist Tyler James. The "concieved in the fall of '73" couplet is old and random, written in October of 2003 and inserted here perfectly 5 years later. The "pliable as cement" couplet is from August of 2004. First verse largely written while picking up gorilla shit.
